Messagge from the President

Luciano LamonarcaWelcome on the website of the Puglia Center of America!

The Puglia Center of America was established with the idea of promoting the Puglia region of Italy in all its aspects, especially in the creation and exchanges of cultural, tourist, culinary and educational assets between the Puglia region of Italy and the United States of America. The main activity is to organize promotional and cultural events that serve to support global objectives, as the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, missionary and humanitarian projects aimed at fighting cancer.

The Puglia Center of America will invest the contributions, whether they come from governments or individuals, in the efforts to give visibility to Puglia in the international mass-media. The people from Puglia, especially those from the artistic field, will get a chance to perform in the United States, to acquire the international experience that will raise them above others.

In parallel, we are strongly determined on targeting the U.S. population, by stimulating their interest in the beauty of Puglia, proposing events and travels for leisure or for studying the Italian language in the sunniest region of Italy.

In the artistic field, we want to create a bridge between New York and Puglia, materialized in partnerships with great American musical institutions and conservatories and professional orchestras of pugliesi.

All this is Puglia Center of America. Organization that in just more than one year collaborated and partnered with such institutions like the United Nations Department of Public Information, the United Nations of Peacekeeping Operation, the Commissioner’s office for Culture, Tourism, Peace and the Mediterranean Area of the Region of Puglia, the Italian Commission of UNESCO, the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Parliament, Westchester County Government, the Manhattan Borough’s office, the Fordham University, the Columbia University, the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and the University of Massachusetts Amherstt.
